V. Park (open 365 days a year) is located in the middle of one of the most
scenic areas of California. You will be
surrounded with rich forests of Cedar, Fir
and Pine. Each season has it's own beauty
in these forests, from Snow mobile trails,
close by, in the winter, Spring and summer
wild flowers to colorful Autumn foliage in
the fall.
The Creaks in the area flow crystal clear
year round, mostly formed from
underground streams that flow through the
lava ground

BURNEY FALLS
Located approximately 22 miles north of our
park on Hwy. 89. The Burney Falls Memorial
State park is located in the beautiful
evergreen forests of the Pit River country. A
self guide nature trail, one mile long,
surrounds the falls and gorge and takes
about one half hour to walk. DOGS ARE
NOT PERMITTED IN THE FALL AREAS! You
may want to make special arrangements for
your pet.
LAKE BRITTON:
Located in Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
Swimming is permitted here, although there are no
lifeguards on duty. Also fishing and boating are
permitted, with Bass, Pike, Crappie, Brown and
Rainbow Trout
being the most
frequently
caught
varieties.
Swimming Beach
HAT CREEK
This beautiful crystal
clear stream runs year
round. The headwaters
are located in Lassen
Park where it is formed
from underground
streams. During
fishing season, it is
stocked weekly . There
are many stretches of
Hat Creek with open
fishing.
SUBWAY CAVES
See an underground
cave formed by flowing
lava. Located just off
Hwy. 89, 1/4 mile north
of Old Station junction
with Hwy. 44. No fee, but
make sure to bring a
large flash light and/or
lantern and a warm
sweater.
BAUM LAKE AND CRYSTAL LAKE FISH HATCHERY:
Located 2 miles north of Cassell. Fishing is permitted and there is no fee to visit the Fish Hatchery.
Pelicans live on Baum lake from March through October.
FORT CROOK MUSEUM:
Located in Fall River Mills, contains hundreds of artifacts
and records of early California history that deals with the
local area.
Currently, The Fort Crook Museum is recontruction the
Round Barn at the museum site. The historic Round barn
was originally located in Little Valley.
THOUSAND LAKES WILDERNESS AREA:
Thousand Lakes Wilderness is located south of
Burney Mountain. The wilderness area is high
country filled with lakes and majestic peaks.
Four trails provide the only access into the area
and these must be traversed either on horseback
or for more hardy souls, by hiking.
Lake Eiler
LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK:
Lassen Volcanic National Park and the
Loomis Museum at Manzanita Lake are the
must to see. The Park offers an abundance
of things to do and see. The Park entrance
is located approximately 22 miles south of
our park.
Lake Helen
GOLF
A 4 1/2 star golf course is located at Fall River Mills,
about 20 minutes from our park.
